Worship - How?
April 1, 2014
"Lord, this day may the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable in your sight." Psalm 29:2
I had heard that if I was to really worship the Lord, I must kneel before Him. I earnestly tried to do that, but I was not physically comfortable, and the worship I attempted went awry. So is it possible to worship in more than one way? Does it even have to be my way?Abraham worshipped by building an altar. Mariam led the Israelite women in worship by singing and dancing. Daniel prayed before an open window. Mary fell at Jesus’ feet and wiped his feet with hair as she applied expensive perfume to them. Peter and John raised their voices in prayer with other believers. The twenty-four elders fell on their faces to worship. How we worship is varied—that we worship is essential. We are to worship in truth so what we believe is crucial. We are to worship Almighty God—all powerful, all knowing, and everywhere Master of the universe. How we worship depends on the individual personality and customs of the person.Give honor to the Lord for the glory of his name. Worship the Lord in the splendor his holiness.
